ARI and GAMA Boards Propose Merger to Form AHRI

The boards of the Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI) and the Gas Appliance Manufacturers Association (GAMA) have unanimously approved a merger proposal. The combined entity would be named the Air-Conditioning, Heating, Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) and is intended to create a larger manufacturer group with greater political leverage and enhanced global positioning. The proposal has been sent to memberships for a vote, with a potential official formation date of January 1, 2008.
