Ballard Power Systems to Acquire XCELLSIS and Ecostar Electric Drive Systems

Ballard Power Systems announced an agreement to acquire DaimlerChrysler's XCELLSIS unit and Ford's Ecostar Electric Drive Systems unit. The acquisitions will consolidate fuel cell engine and electric drive train capabilities into Ballard, making it the automakers' fuel cell engine supplier.
