Comfort Systems CEO: future HVAC consolidation will be selective, not a 1990s-style wave

CEO William Murdy said Comfort Systems is not repeating the late-1990s HVAC consolidation pattern, will pursue only selective/opportunistic acquisitions given the industry's size and fragmentation, and expects mostly organic growth.

“Given the size and fragmentation of our industry and the strength of our balance sheet, it makes sense for us to consider acquisition possibilities. However, we plan to do so on a very selective, opportunistic basis, and expect our growth in 2005 will largely be generated internally.”
