Ingersoll Rand to Acquire Trane Inc.

Ingersoll Rand announced an agreement to acquire Trane Inc., a global supplier of HVAC systems and building controls. The transaction is expected to close in early 2008, pending shareholder and regulatory approvals, and will create a combined company with approximately $17 billion in revenues.
