Registration to the (MIR) and (OHPA) programs was easy and the staff was courteous and very helpful. Initial home energy assessment was very informative & helpful targeting needed upgrades. Installation of the new efficient and very comfortable heat pump system was quick and all the details were handled by Efficiency Nova Scotia to my delight. When I finished with the remaining insulation upgrades a final energy assessment was completed and all invoices submitted to Efficiency Nova Scotia for review. I’ve had this system in my house for a year now and my heating cost are down substantially and my house is more comfortable than ever. I would recommend this program to anyone. Thank you Efficiency Nova Scotia for a wonderful program.

I applied to have efficiency ns come to my house to do upgrades. They offered a smart thermostat, hot water controller, humidity sensor, solar lights, etc. They asked if my thermostat was programmable, I said there was an option but it doesn't work because the thermostat is so old. I was told that since I have a programmable thermostat, I am not eligible for the program whatsoever and I would have to buy a new one and they will not book an appointment. So because I cant get a smart thermostat I cant get anything else either?!

Not impressed at all. I went through the entire program of having an energy audit. Upgraded from oil to propane furnace, and installed the most efficient heat pump from recommendations. It was completed within their date & time limitation. Had the follow up audit and was expecting 5 to 6K back from what the auditor had told me. Instead I received and email back saying the model number didn't match the requirement and received nothing. I spent $24,000 following their program just to get shafted for the rebate. Then try calling them for an explination!!! but thats another story.
