We hired Joe to design a system for our lakefront cottage and house. He originally told us we could put both on a shared system as long as we got a survey first and he would look after everything. We did get the survey then he told us we needed two separate systems. He told us the trees we would need to cut so we did. When we got his plans they were on the opposite side of where he told us (the plumbing had been roughed in for the other side like he told us). We had to cut down more trees and the ones we did cut down didn't need to be. We sucked it up as experience and paid Joe his 4500 dollars for his design. 6 months later we get a call from the surveyors looking for the 4500 we never paid them. He knowingly told us it was included in his price which we obviously believed as it was 4500! They had been trying to contact us for payment apparently but Joe had given them the incorrect email for out contact. So we paid over $9000 before any ground was even broken. After Joe's system was installed we had tremendous amounts or ground water penatrating into the system. Thank goodness for our excellent operator who came out and fixed it out of his own pocket. When he questioned what Joe would do to correct the issue of his faulty design he told him that's between him and the customer. I've dealt with multiple contractors on different jobs large and small in the past and this was by far the most stressful and frustrating experience I've ever had with any contractor. This is actually the only negative review I've ever felt the need to share to hopefully protect others from experiencing what we did. Would not recommend.
